  71. HACKERS: One Man's Definition.

  74. Hacking in itself is seldom defined
  75. correctly; the definition I use is a
  76. person who is very knowledgeable about
  77. computers and is rather expert at
  78. using them. In short, a really good
  79. programmer/modifyer.  A hacker will
  80. spend hours revising or editing a
  81. program or application to make it more
  82. efficient; his true love is learning
  83. and he will spend most of his time
  84. pursuing new things about computers.
  85. Indeed, he may often work ridiculously
  86. (seemingly) simply to discover how to
  87. "build a better mouse trap".  These
  88. people are not interested, usually in
  89. getting into other people's software
  90. and systems.  They are more interested
  91. in figuring out how things work and
  92. often improving or modifying them for
  93. their own use.
  94.   True hackers believe that
  95. information and the use of computer
  96. time should not be wasted; indeed,
  97. they are hateful of passwords and file
  98.

  133.   So I grab a fistful of dimes and
  134. quarters; to dial direct for a change
  135. of pace; the thing wants a lot of
  136. money. I put it all in but it keeps on
  137. rejecting this purrfectly phine looking
  138. specimin of a quarter. So i get another
  139. quarter and put it in. It spits back
  140. the whole kittenkabootle.
  141.   So I try the call again, it tells me
  142. I have a minute and starts ringing.  My
  143. YIP friendz answer and we start
  144. talking. After a couple minutes the
  145. thing suddenly shuts me off and I can
  146. hear them; they can't hear me.
  147.   Click.
  148.   It spits the whole
  149. kitchenkubbnoodles back to me again.
  150.   I compleat the call again.
  151.   We talk politely, all of a sudden
  152. the thing starts bitchin cause she
  153. wants 20 more centagos. We talk. I
  154. usually ignore threats like that.
  155.   She asks again.
  156.   Again she asks. Then all of a sudden
  157. she thanks me.
  158.   I love fucked fones.
